Title: Keeping your customers safe during and beyond COVID-19
Run by The Montgomery Group Series
When: Thursday, 14th May
Timings: 11:30 AM – 12:15 PM
You know your staff and customers better than anyone. What is going to give them the confidence to come back to you post-lockdown? How are you going to demonstrate to them that your venue offers a safe environment in which to work and socialise? How will you make the measures you put in place obvious and overt but not off-putting? How will you tell people what you are doing?
This pandemic is presenting all of us with a brand new set of circumstances that will require a rethink of how we do things. We have researched the measures that operators in other countries have already used to get their businesses moving again, and picked out the best practice with a focus on safe working and controlling the spread of infection.
Speakers:
Jill Whittaker FCA, Managing Director, HIT Training
Anthony Pender, Co-Founder, The Yummy Pub Co
INTERNATIONAL
COVID-19: How Tourism & Hospitality must adapt to the needs of visitors
Learn how the tourism ecosystem is adapting and opening up to the first waves of visitors internationally
When: June 3rd 3pm
2020 has devastated the tourism industry and led to millions unemployed globally. The recovery from COVID-19 will be slow and it will require all businesses and organizations to meet the needs of visitors and employees differently.
Some of these needs will include:
- Enhanced safety and precautions
- More flexibility and convenience
- Addressing shortages due to closed businesses and loss of staff
- New training and education
This 90-minute online webinar will bring together experts from across the tourism ecosystem to discuss what a short- and long- term recovery may look like from the visitor’s perspective. Our panel of experts will focus on providing practical and strategic tips on how organizations can recover in a sustainable way that’s empathetic to the needs and fears of visitors.
The event will feature two panels: one from the hospitality perspective and one from the tourism perspective. This event is part of an events series about the impacts of COVID-19. Learn more about it here.

NETWORKING WEBINAR: WeeG Chat
When: Every Friday from 11am
WeeG Chat is a new Chamber product, designed to give members a digital platform, to grab a coffee and have a chat among peers on some issues that are impacting the business community.
Join us on Friday at 11.00 am for a 45-minute online discussion, hosted by Sarah Heaney and Robert Menzies from the Chamber’s Membership Department.
There is no right or wrong approach to the topics we discuss, and WeeG Chat is a chance to hear how other businesses are approaching this style of working during this crisis.
Our hosts will explain the house rules for the discussion, so grab a coffee (or a tea) and join the chat and lets see where the conversation goes.
