City Businesses Come Together to Create ‘We Miss You, Glasgow’ Video
Hospitality and tourism have been the worst hit by the global Coronavirus pandemic and businesses across the city have come together to send a message to the people of Glasgow.
The ‘We Miss You, Glasgow’ video sees fifteen of the city’s amazing hospitality businesses who are missing serving and seeing their customers, share a heartfelt message. After being forced to close due to COVID-19 in March, these Glasgow favourites really miss their customers and can’t wait to open once the lockdown measures begin to ease.
City favourites include hotels such as Radisson Red and Native and attractions like Fore Play Crazy Golf, Clydeside Distillery and Mackintosh At The Willow. Scottish seafood restaurant, Gamba and burger joint, El Perro Negro also feature in the heartfelt video, along with East end bar, The Gate, Finnieston cocktail hangout, Kelvingrove Cafe and craft specialists Grunting Growler.
Created on behalf of the city, the idea came from the city’s industry network for tourism and hospitality – Experience Glasgow, which is driven by industry.
In response to the crippling effects of COVID on the sector, Experience Glasgow offers a support network for city businesses with their Business Action Group and a new website www.experienceglasgow.com – a collaborative platform that helps businesses navigate and recover from the global pandemic.
Judith Eck, business support manager at Experience Glasgow explains.
“The impact on our industry has been devastating and this video represents everything great about Glasgow’s independent businesses and our hospitality community.”
“With over 125 engaged businesses in the Business Action group across the sector, it was clear that businesses across the city are missing their guests. At Experience Glasgow we wanted to do something to help remind the city that our businesses miss them.”
Peter McKenna, owner of The Gannet said:
“What do I miss most about our customers? I miss them coming into our restaurant and keeping us busy in the kitchen. We can’t wait for the day that we can open again.”
